Tisdall Shiraz 2003 (Australia)

This dark-ruby colored elixer has the aroma of a charcoal grill but tastes like raspberries in cream. The oak flaver is subtle and vanillin, and is perfectly balanced against the fruit and tannin flavors. It isn't sweet, dry, or watery - it's just delicious. I like it so much.

It was the only one I could afford in a "real" wine shop. The clerk recommended it with a mix of disdain and pity. I bought two bottles, but if only he had been straight with me about the superior quality of this $12 shiraz, I would have bought a lot more. This wine is on my list.

Wait, I haven't made The List yet. List coming soon.
