Tamar Ridge Riesling 2004 (Tasmania)

This pale, pale, pale green Riesling was our friend Mark's contribution at our little Christmas feast. Crisp and woodsy, it evokes images of palm trees and sunlight, and presents hints of lime candy. Mark observes its fresh, nice finish, clean and smooth, with grassiness at the end. It's not necessarily elegant, he said; harsh, and acidic on the front palette. Someone said "strawgrassy," which might not be a word.
